    Hi all
The James Wiseman who arrived in Newfoundland c1806 and lived for 68 years at Heart’s Delight, Trinity Bay, before his death in March 1874, is my 1st cousin 4 times removed.

I would love to make contact with anyone who has links to James, his sons James and William, or any other Wiseman with Ringwood links.

Hi Dennis, have you done Ancestry DNA?

I’m a Wiseman but my great great grandfather was adopted, so it’s a bit messy.

    Hi Debbie
Great to hear from you, and so soon after I posted.

Yes, I have taken an Ancestry test and also uploaded it to My Heritage, FamilyTreeDNA (where I also have a YDNA test), Gedmatch and LivingDNA. It was through the latter that Bruce Bursey of Newfoundland contacted me (we are a 30cM match) but I have no Burseys in my Ringwood part of the tree and have never come across any whilst researching the Wisemans there, but there are Bursey records in the prish registers.

I’ve just had a look at my matches on My Heritage where they often show a flag emblem to tell you where the match is located, in the 30cM and over group, about 180, there are only 3 obvious Canadians. I’m surprised by this because I also have a connection to Quebec with a tree of over a hundred French Canadians.

Do you have any possible Ringwood connections?
