I am looking for information on William Etsell who was born in 1763 probably in England. There is no evidence he was born in Scotland. He arrived in Newfoundland in 1791 and married Jane Butler in 1803 and had several children. I have been unable to find a birth record on him anywhere and wondered if he actually arrived in Newfoundland from Australia or from somewhere else. I was in Newfoundland in 2017 but could not find any real paper trail.

Any information would be appreciated.
