Hello! I am researching my grandfather’s family. I am looking for Francis Jane (middle name possibly Joseph) born around 1885. His parents may be John Janes and Cecelia Batterton (unconfirmed). Francis married Ann and then Marie. He had four children, the eldest with Ann (William Janes…my grandfather) and the three younger with Marie. Thanks!!
Hello, it would be helpful to know the district of Newfoundland where the family lived and what year your grandfather William was born. I am also wondering if you have tried researching on the Newfoundland Grand Banks or NLGenweb websites. Both have a great deal of information that might help you.
Kim, I’ve just searched this forum and found your post of 2014. You may have found the following website already but, if not, you may want to check it out. http://www.familysearch.org is a free website. You just have to register to use their data base. Francis Joseph Janes is definitely listed there as well as his parents: John Janes & Cecelia Batterton. Hope my note gets to you okay.
