I am looking for information about my grandfather’s family. My grandfather’s name was Patrick Joseph Chetman and he was born in 1922. It is my understanding that a family tragedy caused my grandfather to be adopted. I am unsure what last name he had on his birth certificate. However, someone with the last name Strickland was involved in his life (adoptive father/natural father – unsure). At some point in his life, he decided to change his last name and it was recorded as Chetman. When I search records I cannot find anything for him using either Chetman or Strickland.
