Looking for information on the Kirby family who lived in St. John’s. My mother Elizabeth was a Kirby. Married my father James Dalton when he came up from New York to build the Argentia base. Her father and mother were James Kirby (11/10/1880 – 12/9/1929) and Mary Furlong (2/11/1876 – 2/13/1948) her mother Annie Furlong died at age 73 in 1915. They had several children, Denis(b.1901),Mary Bridget (b.1905), Patrick Joseph (b.1906), John Patrick (b. 1907),James Joseph (b. 1912), Peter Joseph (b. 1913), Nicholas Benjamin (b. 1914), Mary Elizabeth (b. 1916)(my mother), Mary Ellen (b. 1919).

We 5 children of Elizabeth wondered where they originated from and do we have any cousins in Newfoundland. We just came back from a 15 day driving trip all around the province and thoroughly enjoyed the people and countryside.
