Does anyone have any connection to Michael O’Toole, he was married to Winnifred Byrne, and their first child was born in 1886. They had 4 children, Annie 1886, John, Edward (Mikey) and Bride in 1894.

These are my great grandparents. I can find no record of their marriage although they appear to have stayed in Newfoundland until their deaths.

The family I believe lived on Southside.

    Can anyone help please?

Hi Jean can you tell me a little more on your Michael O’Toole and Winnifred Byrne. I have a Winnifred Byrne in my records but no spouse or children listed. But I have parents John Byrne and Mary Ann McCarthy, would this be the same Winnifred that you have in your records? Also for Michael O’Toole I have only one listed but he is more recent and not from the 1800s so it couldn’t be the one your are searching for. But any info that you can share would help and I will keep watch for anything that would interest you on those surnames. Good luck.

hi Sorry I’ve taken so long to reply, moving interstate etc. I have now found my Grand parents marriage register and It tells me the witnesses were Michael Byrne and Margaret Byrne, this in April 1908. I have also found original of my Grandmothers birth in the vital Stat., Fathers name Michael Toole Mother Mary Byrne. Now I’m really confused as my mother was named after her grandmother Winifred Mary O’Toole.(abt 1857 in Brigus)My Mother was Winifred Irene Cousins (1917).

Maybe something here will tie in?

    Cheers
    Jean
