There is a Facebook Group called Burgeo’s Past. Post your question there and I am sure you will receive lots of help.
The death record I saw said he was born in 1858 and died June 29th, 1938 at 80years old. You can purchase the death certificate (Certificate Number 220121-235351) from Government of NL Vital Statistics Division. This certificate should give you more information about birth, parents, etc.
Have you checked Newfoundland Grand Bank Genealogical website? Click on home, go to bottom of page and type in Whiteway. you will get 1,300 results right away to look through. good luck.
